What NIPA Does
The Northern Ireland Polymers Association (NIPA) is the industry representative body for the Polymers Sector in Northern Ireland.
NIPA support and encourages innovation, competitiveness, exports and R&D by its Members and the broader Polymer Sector.
The main manufacturing areas NIPA Members cover include extrusion (pipes/tubes, sheet and film), injection moulding, composite components and assemblies, thermoforming, blow moulding, stretch blow moulding, and rotational moulding. Markets served cover the spectrum from aerospace, transport, medical, packaging, consumer, building and construction, utilities, food & drink and many, many more.
The Membership is made up of manufacturers, research and development / advisory & support services / further & higher education, and the wider supply chain. The NIPA Board is drawn from and annually elected by the Members.





NIPA facilitates inter-company networking and Working Groups in areas of common pupose that include / have included: Composites, Energy, Manufacturing Processing, Innovation & Commercialisation Practices, closer working with the Creative Industries Sector, Lower Cost 3D Printing / VR / AR, Material / Processing Innovations, and “For Industry – By Industry” Training.The 2018 focus areas include skills, innovation and sustainable commercial export growth.
NIPA has established national and international links to help promote, manage and support the delivery of the industry strategy and plans. NIPA is a private sector company that is self-funding through its membership subscriptions and commercial activities.
The NIPA Office is located at the Innovation Centre at the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast.
