Moulding refers to a variety of process where a polymer is formed to a specific shape. This could be casting, expanded foam products and a variety of other methods.
Thermoforming is the process of taking a sheet of extruded polymer, heating it and then using vacuum or positive pressure to force the heated material against a mould. Thermoforming is used widely for large polymer components. Locally, parts are produced for food packaging, aerospace interiors and many other industrial applications.
