NIPA and SERC have launched a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Polymer Processing and are hosting an online information event on Wednesday 14th April at 9am. The SERC apprenticeship will be available to any local business that is interested in registering candidates, with the cohort commencing in September 2021.
This Polymer Processing apprenticeship is the result of extensive work undertaken by NIPA and it’s members over the previous number of years. SERC have developed the apprenticeship with the assistance of Gerry McNally of NIPA and Gerry noted that “The new apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for local companies to enhance the skills of their employees and continue to grow specialist knowledge of polymer processing”.
The course is a 2 year part-time study at SERC’s Lisburn campus with students typically being in teaching 1 day per week. On the job training is a primary focus of an apprenticeship and the combination of theoretical and practical knowledge has been shown to be the most appropriate means of enhancing learning.
