The Belfast operations specialises in major aircraft structures including fuselages, wings, engine nacelles and flight control surfaces in metal and advanced composites. With first-class capabilities and some 5,000 highly-skilled employees, the operation plays a pivotal role in all of Bombardier's families of commercial and business aircraft. Belfast also produce nacelle components for Rolls-Royce, Airbus and General Electric.
Bombardier Aerospace, Belfast is a recognised leader in the design, manufacture and certification of advanced composite components, and has been developed as Bombardier's centre of excellence for composite technologies. With three dedicated composite manufacturing facilities: the new wing factory in Belfast as well as the Dunmurry and Newtownabbey sites. The composite manufacturing portfolio includes more than 30 components: wings, engine nacelles, landing gear doors, and flight control surfaces such as flaps, ailerons, elevators and rudders. With 40 years of composite expertise that has been developed through strategic research and development programmes, supplemented by continuous materials evaluation and manufacturing development.
