AIT - APT Gateway
Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) is the higher education institution serving the midlands region of Ireland with 6,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
APT Gateway is located at the Materials Research Institute at Athlone Institute of Technology.
AIT offers 200 programmes on a full-time and part-time basis ranging from the Irish Higher Certifcate (Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifcations (NFQ)) to PhD (Level 10) across its four schools.
11% of AIT's full-time learners are international students.
AIT's focus is on real-world engagement to provide the knowledge, skills and competencies identifed and sought by employers.
AIT's Polymer related courses are:
- Certificate in Polymer Technology for Medical Devices (Level 6)
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Polymer Engineering (Level 8)
- Master of Science in Applied Polymer Technology (Level 9)
Applied Polymer Technology (APT) is set up and funded, under the Enterprise Ireland's Technology National Gateways scheme, to help link the Irish (RoI) based academics and industrialists with polymer materials and manufacturing research at a national and international levels. The APT Gateway is based on the Athlone Institute of Technology campus. APT provides polymer technology solutions for companies in the medical, composite, recycling and pharmaceutical sectors.
